The Texas Commission on Environmental Quality today approved a water-right permit to construct and maintain a dam and reservoir to be known as Lake Ralph Hall. This is the first major reservoir permit, not directed by the legislature, to be approved in more than 25 years.

Agreed orders were issued for the following enforcement categories: five air quality, two multi-media, one municipal solid waste, two municipal waste discharge, eight petroleum storage tank, six public water system, and one sludge.
Default orders were issued for the following categories: one petroleum storage tank.
Included in the total are penalties of $215,600 against Superior Crude Gathering, Inc. in San Patricio County for air quality violations stemming from an emissions event in early 2010. Half of the penalty amount will be applied to a Supplemental Environmental Project.
