	Brooklyn gears up for West Indian Day Parade The borough is gearing up for one of its most anticipated events of the year, the West Indian Day Parade. Tables and tents are popping up along Eastern Parkway as people begin setting up for the annual festivities.

	What is Labor Day? Labor Day has been celebrated on the first Monday of September for more than a century, but some Brooklyn residents who spoke to News 12 aren't sure why. The U.S. Department of Labor says that the holiday was created to recognize the achievements of American workers.

	1-year-old in stroller fatally shot in Brownsville A 1-year-old boy is dead after being shot in the head in Brownsville. According to police, Antiq Dennis was killed right in front of his parents on Bristol Street, near Dumont Avenue, at around 7:30 p.m. Sunday.

	New York Daily News endorses Lhota for mayor The New York Daily News has officially endorsed Joe Lhota for mayor in the Republican primary. Lhota is the former chairman of the MTA, and has already been endorsed by the New York Post and the New York Times.

	Police: 2 shot near Prospect Park on Flatbush Ave. Police are looking for two suspects wanted in yesterday morning's shooting that wounded two people in Flatbush. A witness says the two victims were listening to music when they were ambushed by two shooters.
