TCEQ Daily Air Quality Forecast Update

Tuesday 9/10/13
Incoming continental haze could raise PM2.5 into the lower end of the "Moderate" range in parts of East and Southeast Texas, including the Houston, Beaumont-Port Arthur, and Tyler-Longview areas. Elsewhere in the state, moderate winds and lower incoming background levels should help to keep air quality in the "Good" range. 

Wednesday 9/11/13
Winds may be light enough and incoming background levels high enough for ozone to reach "Moderate" or possibly higher levels on the north and northwest side of the Dallas-Fort Worth area and "Moderate" on the west and northwest side of the Houston area and in the Tyler-Longview area, with highest concentrations in the afternoon and early evening. Incoming continental haze could raise PM2.5 levels into the lower end of the "Moderate" range in parts of Central, North Central, and Northeast Texas, including the Dallas-Fort Worth, Austin, and Tyler-Longview areas. Elsewhere in the state, moderate winds and lower incoming background levels should help to keep air quality in the "Good" range. 

Thursday 9/12/13 Outlook
Winds may be light enough and incoming background levels high enough for ozone levels to reach "Unhealthy for Sensitive Groups" on the west and northwest side of the Dallas-Fort Worth area and "Moderate" on the west and northwest sides of the Houston and Austin areas and in the Beaumont-Port Arthur and Tyler-Longview areas, with highest concentrations in the afternoon and early evening. If winds are light enough, ozone levels could also possibly reach "Moderate" levels on the west and northwest side of the San Antonio area. Incoming continental haze should continue in North Central Texas, keeping PM2.5 levels at the lower end of the "Moderate" range in the Dallas-Fort Worth area. Elsewhere in the state, moderate winds and lower incoming background levels should help to keep air quality in the "Good" range. 

Friday 9/13/13 Outlook
Winds may be light enough and incoming background levels high enough for ozone to reach "Moderate" or possibly higher levels on the west and southwest side of the Dallas-Fort Worth area and "Moderate" on the west and southwest sides of the Houston, Austin, and San Antonio areas and in the Beaumont-Port Arthur, Waco-Killeen, and Tyler-Longview areas, with highest concentrations in the afternoon and early evening. Incoming continental haze should continue in North Central Texas, keeping PM2.5 levels at the lower end of the "Moderate" range in the Dallas-Fort Worth area. Elsewhere in the state, moderate winds and lower incoming background levels should help to keep air quality in the "Good" range.
