Intersection of McKinney & Olive to close this morning;

Work will begin on a trolley extension to McKinney Avenue

Dallas – The McKinney Avenue/Olive Street intersection will be closed today to allow workers to complete a trolley extension to the existing line on McKinney. The intersection is expected to remain closed until Sept. 29.

“We looked at several alternatives in an effort to make the connection without closing the intersection,” said City of Dallas Public Works Assistant Director Alan Hendrix. “After examining all the options, we concluded that closing the intersection would be the safest,” he said.

Only one lane of traffic will be available on inbound McKinney Avenue during the track work.

In addition, all lanes on North Olive between the Woodall Rodgers westbound service road and McKinney will be closed to through traffic. Detour signs will be in place.
