August 20, 2013 LEOMINSTER, Mass. - DoubleTree by Hilton, Hilton Worldwide's fastest growing full-service brand, today announced the newest addition to its portfolio with the opening of the DoubleTree by Hilton Leominster. Formerly a Four Points by Sheraton, the hotel commenced an extensive multi-million dollar renovation last month that is expected to complete in spring 2014 and will include enhancements to all areas of the seven-story property. The hotel continues to be managed by Driftwood Hospitality Management. "Beyond the highly-anticipated hotel upgrades, we are most thrilled to debut the DoubleTree by Hilton name in Leominster and bring guests the outstanding service culture for which the brand is known," said Suzanne Farias, general manager - DoubleTree by Hilton Leominster. "This starts with the warm chocolate chip cookie presented to each guest on arrival and continues through each touch point of the guest's stay." As the property-wide transformation progresses, the hotel will unveil a fresh, contemporary look with updates throughout the 188 guestrooms and lobby. An upgraded fitness center will feature new, state-of-the-art exercise equipment, and updated food and beverage menus will also roll out at the hotel's restaurant. Offerings include the brand's Wake Up DoubleTree Breakfast buffet and a la carte options, as well as pub style fare, chilled cocktails and local brews during lunch and dinner. With nearly 15,000 sq. ft. of function space, DoubleTree by Hilton Leominster is ideally-suited for large- and small-scale meetings and events. Among the 13 flexible meeting rooms is the largest grand ballroom in Northern Worcester County - a 7,800+ sq. ft. Grand Ballroom that showcases 14-foot ceilings and can accommodate up to 900 guests, or can be divided into five separate sections for smaller-scale events. A seasonal outdoor pavilion and gazebo creates the perfect setting for outdoor weddings and events for up to 150 people. Centrally-located in New England, DoubleTree by Hilton Leominster boasts an ideal setting along the Johnny Appleseed trail - which connects the Freedom trail in Boston to the Mohawk trail in the western part of the state. The hotel offers easy access to routes 90, 495, 190, 290, 2 and 12, and is located 43 miles from Boston Logan International Airport and 56 miles from Manchester-Boston Regional Airport. Nature lovers can enjoy kayaking, hiking and swimming in the beautiful, 4,300-acre Leominster State Forest. Guests can stop by the nearby Wachusett Brewery to sample specialty ales, or visit the stunning Nashoba Valley Winery or Leominster's premiere orchard, Sholan Farms. The Mall at Whitney Field offers a variety of shopping destinations and, in the winter months, guests can take to the slopes and trails of Wachusett Mountain. "With its convenient location to leading leisure and business destinations in New England, as well as its tremendous meeting and event offerings, DoubleTree by Hilton Leominster is a perfect addition to our growing portfolio," said John Greenleaf, global head - DoubleTree by Hilton. "We look forward to bringing our industry-recognized service culture that is built around the idea of CARE - Create a Rewarding Experience - to guests, team members and the community of Leominster. Among the DoubleTree by Hilton brand exclusives that guests will enjoy are an assortment of gourmet in-room coffee and tea offerings by Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf, a refreshing array of CITRON body care products by Crabtree & Evelyn and the DoubleTree by Hilton Sweet Dreams sleep experience. Additional hotel amenities include a heated indoor pool and whirlpool with ADA lifts, complimentary 24-hour fitness center, 24-hour business center, and complimentary high speed Wi-Fi internet access throughout the property and guest rooms. As the hotel is now part of the Hilton Worldwide portfolio, Hilton HHonors members can now earn and redeem points for stays. Diamond HHonors members will receive 1,000 bonus points and free continental breakfast during stays, and Gold HHonors members will have the option of receiving either 1,000 bonus points or complimentary continental breakfast during stays.
