Winds may be light enough and incoming background levels high enough for ozone levels to reach "Unhealthy for Sensitive Groups" on the southwest and south side of the Houston area; "Moderate" or possibly higher in the Corpus Christi and Victoria areas; and "Moderate" on the south and southwest side of the Dallas-Fort Worth area and in the Austin, San Antonio, Waco-Killeen, Beaumont-Port Arthur, and Tyler-Longview areas, with highest concentrations in the afternoon and early evening. Smoke from Canada may move into parts of North Central and Northwest Texas later today, increasing PM2.5 levels to the lower end of the "Moderate" range. Elsewhere in the state, moderate winds and lower incoming background levels should help to keep air quality in the "Good" range.
