	Week of July 20–26, 2013 Share important community information My newsletter is designed to bring current and relevant information about Cobb County Government to the public. You can help me accomplish this by reaching out to your neighbors. Forward this to five friends who live in the district and ask them to sign up for the newsletter at my Web page here. By working together, we can keep everyone in the loop about road projects, meetings and other important issues. For example, we will soon run a multi-part series concerning the zoning process and how you can monitor the review of a rezoning request. We also have information about specific District 2 rezoning cases available here. Get the information you need and share it with everyone through this, your community newsletter. Bob Ott Paper Mill Road Bridge Replacement Paper Mill Road Bridge at Sope Creek is closed through Oct. 25, 2013. The new bridge will include a six foot sidewalk on the south side, providing access to National Park Service trails. A signed detour route (as shown in image) will be provided during construction.  Paper Mill Road at Sope Creek  – Saturday, July 20, through Friday, July 26 The contractor will continue work on the new bridge substructure. Indian Hills Parkway at Eastside Elementary School Contractor is not planning to work this weekend - July 20 and 21 Indian Hills Parkway – Monday, July 22, through Friday, July 26 Contractor will continue final grading, placing striping, and installing signs.   Lower Roswell Road Construction Contractor is not planning to work this weekend – July 20 and 21 Davidson Road to Willow Point Parkway – Monday, July 22, through Friday, July 26 This section of Lower Roswell Road is substantially complete. Contractor is working on punch list. Willow Point Parkway to Timber Ridge Road – Monday, July 22, through Friday, July 26 Expect periodic lane closures from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. between Willow Point Parkway and Timber Ridge Road with one lane remaining open. The contractor will continue grading, work at roundabout, and install storm drainage. Utility relocations should not affect your service. EXPECT DELAYS   Little Willeo Road Sidewalks Construction The contractor is not planning to work this weekend – July 20 and 21 Karls Gate Drive to Lake Fjord Pass – Monday, July 22, through Friday, July 26 Expect intermittent lane closures from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. with one lane remaining open while the contractor continues placing concrete sidewalk and final grading.    Cooper Lake Road Sidewalk Construction The contractor is not planning to work this weekend – July 20 and 21 Laurel Springs Way to South Cobb Drive – Monday, July 22, through Friday, July 26 Expect intermittent lane closures from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. with one lane remaining open. The contractor is working on punch list.    Concord Road Construction – City of Smyrna The contractor is not planning to work this weekend – July 20 and 21     South Cobb Drive to Atlanta Road – Monday, July 22, through Friday, July 26 Expect intermittent lane closures from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. with one lane remaining open in each direction at all times.  The Evelyn Street intersection with Concord Road has been permanently closed.   Road Resurfacing Asphalt paving operations are scheduled for Saturday, July 20, and Monday, July 22, through Friday, July 26** on the following roads. One lane will be open at all times. EXPECT DELAYS Terrell Mill Road from Cobb Parkway (US41) to Powers Ferry Road Night Work – Windy Ridge Parkway from Powers Ferry Road to Windy Hill Road Night Work – Windy Ridge Parkway Ext. from Windy Ridge Parkway to Windy Hill Road  ** The above scheduled work is subject to change due to weather or construction progress.   I-285 Top-End Resurfacing Project - GDOT Georgia DOT continues working on a $56 million resurfacing project on I-285. Crews will resurface 10 miles of I-285 between Paces Ferry Road in Cobb County and Ashford Dunwoody Road in DeKalb County.
