Affinity reagents: Calling the next generation

Affinity reagents help scientists capture the molecules they want to study further, such as proteins or DNA. Often, but not always, antibodies are up to the task. But to address unmet scientific needs, new types of affinity reagents are under development. In the future, researchers will have a growing collection of these important reagents at their disposal.

Teams of scientists explore different approaches to build this collection, such as recombinant antibodies, synthetic molecules made of peptides and DNA, and nucleic acid aptamers. They put together pipelines to scale up the way these reagents can be produced.

Researchers are also working on ways to encourage uptake of these reagents across the scientific community.
The Technology Feature:
Explores approaches to produce high-quality reagents that are renewable
Looks at validation approaches for new affinity reagents
Addresses efforts to increase throughput when generating new affinity reagents
