(New York, NY – Sept. 26, 2013) On Monday, Sept. 30, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Regional Administrator Judith A. Enck will be joined by Congressmember Nydia Velazquez, state and local officials and community representatives to make a major announcement about the cleanup of the Gowanus Canal Superfund site in Brooklyn, New York, one of the nation’s most seriously contaminated bodies of water.

When/Where: Monday, Sept. 30, 2013 at 11:00 am 118 Second Avenue, Brooklyn, NY 11215 On the banks of the Gowanus Canal in the Lowe’s parking lot – Northeast corner - Lowe’s parking lot.
Driving: Take the Brooklyn Bridge or Battery Tunnel to the Brooklyn Queens Expressway. Take Exit 26 - Hamilton Ave. off of the BQE. Continue on Hamilton Ave for .5 miles. Make a left on to 14th Street which turns into
Hamilton Place. Hamilton Place will lead you into the Lowe’s parking lot. Once in the lot head straight and left to the Northeast corridor of the parking lot.
Subway: Take the F or G train to Smith/9th Street. Cross the street, enter the Lowe’s parking lot and turn right to get to the event location.
