Take the first step

Step 1: Create a Marketplace Account

We have added a feature to HealthCare.gov that allows you to create a personal account – including a username and password – which is the first step to enroll in new coverage options in the Marketplace.

You won’t be able to start your application for Marketplace insurance until October 1. But by creating an account now you’ll be one step closer to applying for coverage in the Health Insurance Marketplace, comparing plans side-by-side, and enrolling in a plan.

Get started in 3 easy steps:

  1. Provide some basic information like your name, address, and email address
  2. Choose a user name and password
  3. Create security questions for added protection
