The Latest Top Stories From News 12 Major delays expected on Route 1 in Edison The state Department of Transportation has announced that a stretch of Route 1 in Edison will be shut down tonight for construction. Route 1 will be closed in both directions from just north of Old Post Road and south of Middlesex County Route 531 (Main Street). 2 dead in overnight shooting in Beachwood Police say two men are dead after an overnight shooting in Beachwood. The Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office says two men were found dead in a home on Compass Avenue. Police believe the shooting happened at around 11 p.m. last night. Gas prices tick down along Turnpike, Parkway Drivers are getting a little break at the pumps along the New Jersey Turnpike and Garden State Parkway. Weather: Partly cloudy, cool; highs around 80 Partly cloudy skies and cool temperatures are expected across the Garden State today. News 12 New Jersey Meteorologist James Gregorio says today’s highs will be around 80 degrees. AAA warns drivers about thieves at gas pumps AAA is alerting New Jersey drivers who travel out of state to be on the lookout for a new type of theft at gas stations known as "sliding." The agency says it's happening in many of neighboring states, like Pennsylvania, where drivers often pump their own gas.
