The Latest Top Stories From News 12 Woman killed in Harrison fire A woman was killed in an early morning fire today in Harrison. Fire officials say the crews arrived on the scene at garden apartments on 154 Underhill Ave. around 5 a.m. and found heavy smoke and fire coming out an apartment on the top floor of two-story building. Flash flood watch in effect for Hudson Valley A flash flood watch is in effect as storms are bringing rain and wind to the Hudson Valley today. News 12 meteorologist Matt Hammer says thunderstorms, possibly intense at times, could pass through the region during the day. Hawthorne home goes up in flames A home in Hawthorne went up in flames yesterday. More than five different departments responded to the blaze at the single-family home at 182 Astor Ave. around 11 a.m. The flames also ignited some foliage surrounding the house. Bronx River Parkway to be shut down today There is a traffic alert today for commuters on the Bronx River Parkway. The northbound side of the parkway from the Sprain Brook Parkway in Yonkers to the Westchester County Center in White Plains is affected. Paintball shooting suspects in court The three people who allegedly shot paintballs and yelled out ethnic slurs at people in a Hasidic community in Rockland are due in court today. Shashi Ramsaroop, his fiancée Lindsey Peaks, and her brother Demetrius Torain are facing hate crime charges.
