	New trial begins for death row inmate A murder trial begins today for a Bridgeport man already on death row for ordering the killings of a woman and her 8-year-old son. Prosecutors say Russell Peeler Jr. gunned down a rival drug dealer and another man in a barbershop in 1998.

	Woman accused of stealing from her job A Stamford woman is facing charges for allegedly stealing money from her former employer in Norwalk. Police say Fortunata Tripodi, 23, stole more than $1,000 from Today's Tan on Connecticut Avenue.

About 200 people participated in the riding event to remember Cpl. Jordan C. Pierson, 21, of Milford, who died in August 2006 while conducting combat operations in Al Anbar province, Iraq.
