Hello colleagues –
We are pleased to announce that on August 21, 2013, the TCEQ Commissioners will consider proposing revisions to the Texas Surface Water Quality Standards for public comment. In addition to topics discussed in the 2012 stakeholder meetings, the Commission will also consider the addition of a definition for industrial cooling water areas and clarification regarding the allowance of different mixing zone sizes for specific numeric criteria. Language regarding all staff recommended revisions to the rule can be found in the backup material. The material will be posted under the topic heading “Pending Rule Proposals” on the Rules Proposals and Adoption Page after the close of business on Friday, August 2, 2013. Specific portions of the rule edited to address industrial cooling water areas and mixing zones include §307.3(a)(32), §307.4(f), and §307.8(b)(10).
Sincerely,
Debbie Miller
Water Quality Standards Rule Coordinator
