News 12 Interactive 2 in critical condition after Newark officer-involved shooting

Two suspects are in critical condition after a shootout with an off-duty corrections officer in Newark at around 3 a.m. today. According to police, the officer was exiting his vehicle at Pomona Avenue and Bergen Street when three men allegedly approached him. Police say the suspects fired shots and the officer returned fire, shooting two of the men.

Police have not yet revealed whether the two 1 dead, 3 injured after Irvington shootings

One person is dead and three others injured after two separate shootings in Irvington last night. The first shooting happened on Clinton Avenue around 5 p.m. The second followed about two hours later at the intersection of Isabella and 18th avenues.
