A judge ruled that the Department of Health Plan to limit sugary drinks falls flat in court

The city's plan to regulate oversized sugary drinks is fizzling out in court again. An appeals judge ruled Tuesday that Mayor Michael Bloomberg's initiative to stop the sales of sodas, juices and other sugar-laden drinks larger than 16 ounces is unconstitutional.

There will be no R train service into New ferry stop to ease R train disruptions

A new ferry stop is being added to help Brooklyn commuters affected by upcoming R train service disruptions. The Seastreak/Rockaway Ferry will be pulling into the Brooklyn Army Terminal at 58th Street in Sunset Park.

Advocates Without Borders and Local Blacks in Law $2,000 reward offered for Bed-Stuy shooting arrests

Local community groups are offering a $2,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the suspects linked to the death of a 17-year-old. Police say Kamau Chandler was fatally shot Saturday morning at 1198 Fulton Street in Bed-Stuy. He was rushed to Interfaith Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.

Weiner is sliding fast in the polls in Poll: Fewer voters willing to back Weiner

Anthony Weiner has dropped in the polls again as the fallout from his latest sexting scandal continues to wreak havoc on his campaign. The former congressman has slipped to fourth place in the Democratic race with 16 percent of surveyed voters willing to back him, according to a new poll conducted by Quinnipiac University.

Police have taken a man into custody in connection to a Bay Ridge vandalism spree targeting churches and synagogues. Authorities say six religious sites were spray painted Monday night. They include St. Anselm Roman Catholic Church, Union Church of Bay Ridge, Bay Ridge Jewish Center, Bay Ridge Preparatory School, Holy Cross Greek Orthodox Church and St. Mary's Antiochian Orthodox Church.
